This month, our youth group traveled to Asheville, NC for a powerful mission experience through Team Effort, a faith-based organization dedicated to organizing youth mission trips across the country.
We joined 220 students and leaders from 12 churches, coming together each night for chapel filled with worship, games, and personal testimonies—truly a time of spiritual growth and connection.
Our team was assigned to the Hazleton neighborhood in Waynesville, an area still recovering from the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. From Monday through Thursday, we worked on rebuilding a fence and painting a covered porch and steps for a homeowner named Samantha.
On Friday, we partnered with the GMC Western NC Disaster Response Coordinator to help Karen, a woman who has been living in a FEMA trailer since her home was severely damaged by flooding last fall. We spent the day hanging drywall and hauling debris as part of the ongoing efforts to get her back home by September.
We are so proud of our youth for serving with open hearts and willing hands—and so thankful for the opportunity to live out our faith in action. 💪💛 #TrinityYouth #MissionTrip2025 #FaithInAction #TeamEffort #GMCDisasterRelief
